The NZTGA sets out to promote organ donor awareness through the participation of its members at National and World Transplant Games. It also promotes organ donor awareness through participation at national events such as the Christchurch City to Surf and Rotorua Marathon. The Association is a non profit organization, and its business, activities and proceedings are held in this vein. It’s primary goal is for its members to have a good time in attending and promoting all events in which the Association participates.

Since inception, The Association has sent teams to the following World Transplant Games.
